Tell Us About Your Career So Far

I have styled celebrities from the world of music, fashion, TV, film etc for events and the red carpet. I’ve worked with digital fashion magazines Glossy and Dirrty Glam as Editor. I was a digital editor for print magazine Push It Magazine. I used to write an award winning blog and have been featured by everyone from Vogue Italia, Forbes to the Huffington Post. Currently I am senior editor of an online culture magazine called IT Culture.

What 2 Things Do You Do To Build Your Confidence?

I like to enjoy my favourite pastimes like spending time with loved ones and choosing garments, both of these build my confidence and help my self-esteem.

What Has Been Your Biggest Life Lesson So Far?

That hard challenges can make me stronger. That they don’t have to be the end of things. It’s been refreshing to learn this.

How Do You Feel About Getting Older?

It bothered me before but now I realise the older I get the more knowledgeable so it is inspiring finding confidence as I age.

What’s Your Purpose In Life?

My purpose in life is to figure out and achieve God’s purpose for me. To live meaningfully and to achieve my goals.

How Do You Balance Work And Life Responsibilities?  What Sacrifices Have You Made?

This is a great question. This is a daily challenge. There are times when I’ve had to let certain job opportunities go so I can chose family or my health over work. There are other times when I’ve missed out on personal events because I’ve chosen work. It is a constant challenge. The key word is balance. Try to think of what choices you would have preferred to have made ten years down the line. This helps.

What Are Your Top Self-Care Tips?  How Do You Relax?

It is important to listen to your body. If you are feeling tired, stressed out or anxious, it will tell you. Listening to my body and heeding is a top tip. Another thing is that I’m a Seventh Day Adventist and observe the Sabbath. This means I do no work physically or mentally from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday, this really helps and is a form of self-care.

What Advice Would You Give The Next Generation Of Girls?

That this too will pass.  Whatever they are going through won’t last forever. If there’s a dream they want to achieve, to believe and go for it.  Not to be afraid of making mistakes. One thing that really helps is having a mentor.
