The property market has long been considered a male-dominated industry, but fairly recently, brand new research was made public about the number of females interested in launching a financially viable career in property. So why has buy to let property become so attractive for female investors?
More Women Are Showing An Interest
A recent study by leading property investment company RW Invest revealed that more women than ever before are beginning to show an interest in the property market. During 2018, a 140% rise in the number of women searching for property online was recorded, alongside the overall number of females investing in property increasing by 78% from September to October 2018. The buy to let market is proving to be one of the most popular assets to invest in as investors view the returns they receive as an attractive opportunity, providing the chance to become financially secure through a robust and regular income.
One of the most significant reasons why property is gaining momentum and becoming more enticing for all those involved is the opportunity to become more financially stable by gaining an additional income. Property investment can have unlimited potential to dramatically boost people’s finances through the high rental income that can be obtained.
Over recent years, as women have become a lot more financially independent, it is evident that we are becoming more concerned about achieving more financially focused goals. Today, females wish to gain more financial freedom than the women that have come before them.
Gender Pay Gap
Investing in property can be a lucrative way of earning extra money alongside a full-time day job, which is why property investment has emerged as such a positive and optimistic venture for women to get involved with. While the number of women in business is on the up, statistics show that three-quarters of over 100,000 large corporations are still involved with enforcing a gender pay gap between men and women. Due to this inequality in the workforce, it is no surprise that more women are seeking opportunities within property investment as a way to maximise their income.
Research Before You Invest
Once we have a firm grasp on the ins and outs of property investment, this has the potential to transform into our main source of income in some cases. Of course, you need to ensure you perform the necessary research before you consider investing in property full time, but you will be quick to learn that this is one of the most fruitful ways to produce large returns. Investors who solely dedicate their time to property often find themselves not needing another form of income. This is because when property investments are executed right, you can make enough money to rely on the returns from property alone in order to fund the lifestyle you are accustomed to.
The Role Of A Landlord
Taking on the role as a full-time landlord can be a daunting prospect, but it can be an enticing opportunity for those who are ready for a new challenge and responsibility, while still maintaining a certain level of freedom. Freedom is an important part of a woman’s life, particularly if they are a mum and want time at home with their children, or are considering starting a family in the future. Becoming a full-time property investor could ensure you do not need to compromise on valuable time as a family, nor jeopardise your monthly income.
Overall, if you are looking to either take control of your finances or become a more financially secure version of yourself, property investment is definitely something to look into. You must make sure though that you are fully equipped to tackle the industry due to its unpredictable, challenging and competitive nature and build up your prior knowledge to be truly successful.
